engagement

Though it was not the biggest surprise that we were going to get engaged, I just didn't know when he was going to pop the question. Nick helped design the ring, but told me that it would not be ready till the end of the summer. Well - the whole time he knew it was going to be done before we left for Vegas. Apparently he wanted to do it on the Gondola ride at the Venetian Hotel, but when we got down there, much to Nick's dismay, the outside portion was closed down for construction. So he thought up a new plan, and decided to do it on the Eiffel Tower. So Friday night (June 24) we (the whole group of friends I had gone down to Vegas with) were suppose to go out dancing, but they all decided they wanted to stay in the hotel and gamble the rest of the night. Well I am not really into gambling, and wanted to do something else. So I asked Nick if we could just walk the strip. So we went upstairs to change our shoes (well I wanted to change from my heels to just some flats), and as we walked towards the elevators Nick realized that he still had some gambling chips in his pocket, so he said he was going to run back to the room, and asked me to get the elevator - but really, Nick was just running back to grab the ring. So we walked down the strip to the Eiffel Tower, but we didn't get there until 1:30am, and it had closed at 1:00am. So again, Nick's plan was ruined. So we walked back up the strip on the other side, and Nick said that he was getting frustrated, and was afraid that he was not going to find a chance to propose to me. As we walked past the Ceaser's Palace (which is massive by the way! As far as land wise goes, it probably is one of the biggest on the strip) I wanted to kind of walk up through the gardens, and see the fountains. Well there wasn't many people around walking up in the garden area, and it was kind of secluded, so Nick figured that now was a good as of a time as any (and was afraid he wouldn't get another chance like this), so he held me and told me that he loved me, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Then he pulled out the ring, and asked "Will you marry me?". At first I was a little stunned, as I was not expecting it on our little walk. So the first couple of sentences out of my mouth was "you have the ring?!?! But you're not suppose to have it yet! How did you get it?!?!" (lol). So Nick said "Kierra, will you marry me?" Then I said "of course I will marry you!"
